NoTouch BreastScan employs an internal air-conditioner system that cools the breast surface by 3-4 degrees Celcius over 5-6 minutes. The purpose of this cooling is to bring the breast surface temperature to a point of thermal equilibrium quickly, in few minutes, without having to wait for the body to autonomously acclimatize to the room on its own (this may take up to 45 minutes). Cooling also helps remove transient heat artifacts (hot summer day, sweat, etc.) and most importantly, cooling allows the system to make software analysis on thermal symmetry between the left and the right breast.
